Land and sky almost seem to combine here in an image that encapsulates all the ferocity of bad weather when it occurs far from shelter in the high country.
New Zealand is a
small land adrift in the oceans of the South Pacific, and
climatic change here, though perhaps less extreme than
in continental countries, makes up for it by occurring
with extreme speed on occasions.
It is mandatory for anyone venturing out into the New Zealand outback, even for a brief period of time, to go prepared for bad weather, even if it isn't forecast.
