Original Acrylic: "The Weather Breaks".

This unusual landscape formation is in the Bay of Plenty on the road through from Rotorua to Whakatane - a route I used to travel quite often in my work for the ACC in Hamilton.   Finally I stopped to take some photographs and do some sketches and this painting was the result.

I painted this as an exploration of changing weather patterns, and because I just had to capture that scene. The painting also reminds me of places I have been in the foothills of the Kaimanwas off the southern end of the Desert Road.
