Here is New Zealand's national symbol, the Silver Fern - Cyathea dealbata - in its native forest setting. This fern is named for the white underside of the mature fronds.
This painting is Acrylic on board, and its wonderful moody coloring evokes the mysteries of the New Zealand bush.
Painted from a scene in my present "backyard" here in the Far North - the main subject plants are only a few feet away from my workshop.
