Original Acrylic: "Old Forest" Wilderness Landscape
|
Here is another Goblin Forest scene with a ground cover of mosses and small ferns.
This is more typical of a beech
forest, such as one would find at high altitude or at
lower levels in Southland or Otago. Beech forests are
not as lush as the broadleaf forests, they lack the
variety of broadleaf understory and there are fewer
treeferns.
The central portion
of this image is the original painting. It is now in San
Francisco, having been given as a wedding present to the
husband-to-be because he had admired it so much hanging in the house of the person who originally bought it from me. Sadly the photograph I took of it before it left does not do it justice, especially in color and sharpness. I must do this subject again, one day.
Acrylic on board, size 6in x 6.5in.
Sold -
Hamilton NZ and gifted to San Francisco USA.
