The Little Wanganui River is in the northern part of the West Coast of the South Island. I saw this view of it from the Wanganui Saddle, in the middle of a Wangapeka / Mt Arthur Tablelands trip.
There are a couple of nice tarns up there and we stopped for a break on the saddle before turning back and continuing on our planned route. This view has always stuck in my mind as a brief glimpse of something I would like to have explored more..
