"Hymenophyllum 1" - NZ Filmy Fern |
This fern is another favourite. I have called it a Hymenophyllum but I'm not sure it actually is, although I'm sure it belongs to the filmy ferns.
It forms little carpets on the forest floor and tree roots, and the fern itself is so small it looks like blades of grass until you look closer.
It takes a botany magnifying glass to see all the wonderful detail captured here. Food for thought on the wonders of nature
