Banking her $2,500 first prize from the 1999 Northland Telecom Art Awards last week, a jubilant Patricia Howitt of Kaeo said while the money was lovely to have, the recognition was more important.
Patricia's entry, a montage of seven Far North scenes entitled "A View Form The Top 2" will feature on the cover of 103,000 copies of the 1999/2000 Northland Telephone Book.
This was the second time she has ben a finalist in the awards with a work that was inspired by the mystical and dramatic qualities of Northland's landscape.
Patricia runs her business, Computer Images, from her Kaeo home, and she sculpts as well as paints.
