Original Acrylic: " Main Range, Tararuas ". This is one of my favourite paintings, with the warm evening light striking across onto the tops of the Main Range at over 3500 feet in the Tararuas, north of Wellington - one of my favourite stamping grounds. At this level, the forest gives way to tussock grassland which clothes the hills in gold. You can almost hear the sound of the mighty river in the shadows below, rising up from the gorge on the still air. The original of this painting in Acrylic on board is 30in x 20in.
